When to Call

Signs you shouldn't wait

Severe or persistent toothache
A tooth that's been knocked out, chipped, or cracked
Swelling in the face, gums, or jaw
A lost filling or crown that's causing pain

Knocked-out tooth

Handle the tooth by the crown (not the root), rinse it gently if dirty, and try to keep it moist — in milk or held in place in the socket — on the way to our office.

Toothache or swelling

Rinse with warm water and use a cold compress on the outside of the cheek to help manage swelling until you're seen.

Chipped or broken tooth

Save any broken pieces if you can, rinse your mouth with warm water, and avoid chewing on that side until we've had a look.
